COLOR

Assignment due November 11, Thursday.

1.  Color collage using "found color".  Image should be same size as 'texture rubbings' piece and use the COMPOSITION from rubbings drawing to guide you...think transformation, similar the pumpkin series, but now we are changing texture into color...hmmm, good luck.
p.s.  work on rubbing drawing to make it a really finished piece

2.  LOVE/HATE
    a.  a multi-leveled project: exploring color and how it might aid intentional, specific expression
    b.  2 drawings, same size paper for each (creating a series of 2).
    c.  "found color"- you may use found color other than magazines so you might investigate how the weight or material can affect color behavior.
    d.  use these 2 drawings to investigate aspects of your FINAL PROJECT, this LOVE/HATE series may help you to discover/decide on/ get closer to what you are interested in that will work as a developed series of drawings.

LOVE/HATE is a practical and "large theme" topic which can help Artists with varied Processes/approaches/ideas to make their ideas more specific...

Things to consider while you compose this LOVE/HATE series, which will need to become specific for your FINAL PROJECT...
1.  TYPE of SPACE (inside, busy, shallow, deep, delicate, memory, scary, outside, imagined, hip-hop, idea, claustrophobic, migratory-we have discussed many, ask your work what it tends toward...what type of space it exists as)
2.  what SHAPES DO YOU HATE?
3. what MARKS DO YOU LOVE
4.  Do you HATE choppy compositions or LOVE simple patterns?

We won't discuss the work as a group on thursday because we have our Model, but hang it up(practice presentation) and I will discuss individually as you work, OR make notes and email you each individually with your midterm grade as you begin to work on your Final Project this weekend(for Tuesday November 16.

-thanks all
Cheryl
